Anyone who has been in Internet Marketing for any period of time knows and has had this drilled into their heads over and over..."The Money Is In The List". If you are new to internet marketing, then you will soon learn this to be true. You can have the best website, a great product, a well tested advertising campaign, great support, etc, etc. but if you not have your own LIST, you are missing out on one of the most profitable marketing tools available to you and that is "Email". Email using an autoresponder allows you to connect with, form a relationship with, and share information about your products with thousands of potential internet customers. Spam is a terrible problem and if you have paid any attention to what arrives in your "spam folder", then you are probably wondering just HOW these people got your email address, right? Truth is that there are many iligetimate businesses out there in violation of Spam Laws or we would all just be receiving emails from people we have personally requested infomation from and of course, our friends and family. Although it seems that every "Tom, Dick and Harry" are blatantly getting away with spamming and you might ask yourself, "Why be concerned with it? Everyone is doing it!" Please do not risk losing your freedom, money to fines, etc. for spamming anyone. It's just not worth it. Only email people who have agreed to accept emails from you via an "opt-in" you provide or through lists that you have either built through online venues that are double opt-in. Always play it safe where email marketing is concerned.
How do I build my list?
If you have a website or blog, you can design a simple page offering visitors a site newsletter, a freebee download of an ebook, site updates or any other valid reason that they might wish to receive emails from your site. By placing a simple opt-in script on this page, you can build your own list to send email ads to. This is a time consuming way of doing it; however, and the length of time it takes to build a good list depends on the amount of traffic you get, return visitors and your conversion rate.
There are many listbuilding websites and services that you can use. Some are productive and others are not, while some are free and others charge to be part of. I find that there are a few free listbuilding tools that offer great conversion and will pass these along to you here. The best way to join a program like this is to have a separate email address just for the emails you will receive. It makes it easier to read your emails to earn credits if you aren't having to sort through a variety of senders, which helps you in turn utilize your time in the most effective manner. I prefer services which award credits with viewed sites or emails, then in turn you convert these credits to emails of your own that can be sent to network members.
